I have made parts for planes, cars of all kinds, motorcycles, stationary industrial equipment. I have made woodworking tools, metalworking tools, die sets. I have made reamers, drills, end mills. Photo equipment, engines, microwave relay boxes, wedding rings, hydraulic cylinders, even parts that went in space. But I have to say this tops this list.
I present to you to culmination of my art, the pinnacle of my talent: the toilet flushing knob!
I guess a little background is in order. My parents new house came with a toilet that has no flushing knob. As we speak the "make do" is an offcut of plywood with a bit of copper wire to pull the flushing mechanism up. I offered to make something to replace the "make do" once we learned that a replacement from the toilet company would cost something like 69.99$. Granted if we add up my time at regular shop rates this one would cost somewhere around 200$ but I had some free time.
So a tiny bit of New Caledonia will forever be part of a shitter. Fitting spot.
Without further ado, the pictures.
It's kinda hard taking pictures of something shiny all over. As you can clearly see in the profile picture the camera and my fingers are reflected in the stainless steel. As for the top picture all I can say is the picture doesn't do it justice. I had to tilt it that way just to see the colour of the wood witout a bazillion reflections. All thats left is to wonder what the next part will be.
