Odds and Sods Part Deux

Yes another odds and sods. It's what I do best! I'll put up stuff in chronological order. So without further ado: Someone else's nuts... lug nuts that is. A buddy at work needed lug nuts to put up his spare tyres on his mean Toyota and couldn't find them in his area. I made a set in 316 stainless that are bound to still be around once the ute's rusted itself to the ground.

Next up, My little project for the "New Caledonian Farewell Tour". I needed a little something to keep me occupied while spending my last six days in New Caledonia. I re-built my bow sight to much closer tolerances than it was when I'd bought it. I ended up milling out the housing out of aluminium and the little worm screw out of titanium. The original pieces are in the foreground> plastic worm and out of tolerance aluminium housing. I had a little help bending the bronze shim to fit: thaks for that.
It's winter here and well my Aussie readers might not figure out what they are for so: They are snowshoes, like tennis rackets you put on your feet that allow you to walk on top of the snow! They're traditional pattern snowshoes but the lacing is out of cod fishing line instead of rawhide. Makes them last much longer.

Last but not least is my new toy. Anyone who's gone to technical college or vocational school between the mid eighties and mid nineties has either played on one or at the very least seen one. It's a small CNC lathe that the schools used to use to teach the rudiments of CNC programming. I found one on the internet and well it's now mine. After a bit of a re-build and maybe updating the electronics it should be fun to play around with.
