Third and Final Lathe Installment

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. This is the moment you've been waiting for. The lathe is... no wait that's Toby the house bunny.
Now that the surprise is ruined. The small lathe I've been working on is done. With hindsight it's a bit like cracking walnuts with a sledge hammer. I mean, it's only to make little fishing floats. It was nice though doing something I'm actually good at. What with all the house renovations i'm winging it, going by instinct and making it work by shear willpower. This little project by contrast was like coming home. Without further ado... the pictures!
Here's a view from the headstock end. The motor is from one of those battery drills with dead batteries that are woth more than the drill itself. There's an extra screw in there to adjust the tension on the o-ring... er... drive belt!
And this one is a view of the tailstock. Lever locks on both the spindle and the bed so no fumbling around for wrenchs. The spindle is a bit of ground stainless shafting from a dead printer I pulled apart many moons ago.
One last one where you can see the whole thing from the back. And that is pretty much it.
Toby with his favourite toy. (toilet paper roll stuffed with hay!) The cardboard box is a hiding place for when I make too much noise, it's got a door carved into it.
