I've been wanting to build a little "camp" in the forest on the backlot, well, pretty much since I bought the place. It always seemed like a frivolous expense so I never did anything about it.
Then I thought, if I dismantle the "utility" building (surveyors words not mine) down I'd have enough lumber to build a little something. Unfortunately, upon closer inspection most of the lumber is rotten. It was insulated in such a way as to trap moisture inside the walls and so it rotted from the inside out!
Back to square one. I couldn't figure out how I was going to pay for this without dipping in my savings. Then I had an eureka moment. You see, change burns in my pockets. Any time money is turned into change, well for me anyway, it ceases to be money. So if I trade a 5$ note for two loonies a toonie and four quarters I have a handful of change but no money. Anyway, I've been (mostly) tossing my change in this big 5gal water bottle and various pots and jars so I thought I'd roll it all and see how much I've got.
I figure with 400$ I can get the basic structure up and then finish it with whatever happens to fall my way. So for the next few nights it'll be just me, some re-runs on tv and piles and piles of change!
