I had this plastic bird feeder that was given to me by the nice woman at the Co-op in town. I hadn't been buying bird seed for it for quite a while because I hadn't found a cheap source. Last weekend I found that the dollar store had some seed at really low prices so I bought 4Kg of the stuff. My problems started when I tried to open the bird feeder and the "windows" crumbled into dust...
Time for a re-think (now that I have seeds I don't have a feeder anymore) From some bits of scrap plywood that I tore out of the bathroom reno project and odds and sods I could find around the house I made a new bird feeder. I agree I went a bit overboard on the styling but it's this kind of little projects that make me happy. In the end the only new parts I used are four drywall screws. Even the windows I put in come from some packaging that was in the recycle bin. There you have it, bird feeder from scraps!
