Like I said in my last post I'd already done some more work on my machine's stand. One of the features that might not have been apparent the first time around is the ballasting system. Since the machine is light weight I decided to incorporate a bit of weight in the base to compensate.
In this picture (the back) you can get a better idea for that system. The two blocked panels on the bottom and the two holes at the top are to empty and fill the side "bays" respectively. I'll be filling the side "bays" with sand. Once filled and in position it should not move and/or more importantly it should not vibrate. You can also see a pipe sticking out of the casework next to the right hand sand filling hole. It's a pipe that connects the front top surface and exits the rear and it will act as a coolant drain once I get to insalling a coolant system.
That is basicaly what it's goint to look like. With the everpresent coffee cup for scale. I've even roughed out the position for a work lamp.
In this view you can see the start panel and emergency stop button. I've started a distribution panel to bring AC into the cabinet and the key switch and E-stop button will work with that. All the cabinet needs now is a door or hatch and it will be complete. Next up is the electronics to get the thing running and then it'll be software.
