Jammin'

I've discovered a few things about making your own preserves and jams et etc...

1) If you don't like doing dishes, don't can anything. You'll end up using every dish or utensil you've got.

2) Canning is the best way I've ever found to make a right mess of the kitchen.

3) Nothing tastes better than homemade preserves. Especially the ones you can't buy at the store.

My redcurrant bush gave me two 1 liter containers of fruit this year. I decided to try making jam with one of them. Yes, jam... not jelly. I'm not much of a jelly fancier. So here are the results. One liter of berries gives two and seven eights half pint pots of jam. The seven eights full one is going straight to the fridge so I can eat some right now.
